The works in the ongoing macro-series Etereo are pictorial images originating from collages of anatomical drawings, focused on studies such as the utopic human attempts at flight or the spatial orientation of non-sighted bodies. There are movements of arms, tensions, impulses, and falls that intermingle to suggest stratified structures — anthropomorphic reverberations. Through various stages, the graphic process gradually distances itself from the initial subjects and evolves into a complex painterly reinterpretation of the body and the new scene in which it is immersed.
Just as in the words of Alda Merini — quoted in the critical text by Marignana Arte for the exhibition Apparizioni. Il Sogno dell’Infinità : “beauty is nothing but the unveiling of a fallen darkness and of the light that emerged from it” — in Etereo (2022), a shadow takes form and falls from above. In the same vein, works such Corpi Onirici (Onirc bodies) (2019) interact with the blackness of the previous graphic stages troughout the pictorial reinterpretation of the image.
